About Peter Campbell

From Hong Kong Production Studios to Children’s Storybooks Peter Campbell is an artist, entrepreneur, storyteller, and grandfather who believes that the best stories help children understand themselves and the world around them.

After decades creating visual communications, stories in film, animation, and digital media, Peter discovered his truest calling: writing and illustrating books for his six grandchildren. What began as bedtime stories shared across continents has blossomed into E-Storytime—a collection of beautifully illustrated chapter books exploring friendship, courage, wonder, and life’s deeper questions.

Living in Melbourne, Australia, Peter draws on a lifetime of creative experience—from his early training in art and design, to pioneering digital media in Hong Kong, to restoring over 100 classic films—to craft stories that are as visually rich as they are emotionally meaningful. Each illustration is created with the same care and artistry that once brought silent films back to life, now reimagined for young readers discovering their own adventures.

But it’s his role as grandfather that truly shapes his stories. Peter writes the books he wants to share with his grandchildren: tales that entertain while gently exploring themes of self-worth, empathy, environmental awareness, and the power of believing in yourself. From Patches the toy rabbit discovering his purpose, to Zephyr’s cosmic journey exploring life’s big questions, each story invites children to think, feel, and wonder.

When he’s not writing or illustrating, Peter continues to innovate in renewable energy and film production—but his greatest joy is knowing that somewhere, a child is discovering one of his stories, asking questions, and beginning to see the world with fresh eyes.

Why I Write Children’s Books

After decades creating corporate communications as “visual stories for adults”, I discovered that the most important stories are the ones we share with children. Books have the power to shape how young people see themselves and others—teaching empathy, courage, and wonder in ways that stay with them forever.

Each E-Storytime book is written with the hope that somewhere, a child will discover not just a story, but a companion on their journey of growing up — something to return to over the years when they need courage, comfort, or simply a reminder of when they used to dream, and that they matter.

Each book includes discussion questions to spark meaningful family conversations or profound lessons from each magical realm.

So grab a book, and a giant ice-cream, relax and enjoy!

With love and wonder,

Peter Campbell
